It is thought that it has been founded in the XV century from the Acquaviva, counts of Conversano, but the town had his real urbanistic realization beginning since 1635 by the agency of the Guercio di Puglia, the count Giangirolamo II.
All around the center of the country stretch the characteristics wards of the Trulli, for which, Alberobello is famous in all the world.
The monumental Zone understands the wards Monti e Aia Piccola, wholly composed of "trulli" united to groups and lined up along precipitous and circuitous lanes that climb the hill.
